We did some more work on drawings and a fair bit on Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and CPR. We had the drawing exam on Thursday and the OH&S and CPR tests on Friday.
We started (and finished) the next subject which deals with applied electricity. This covered all the base SI (Systeme Internationale) units and some derived units along with all the metric prefixes (mega, kilo, milli, etc) and a few basic formula (most notably Ohm’s Law and those governing work, energy & power). We have the exam for this subject on Monday.
Apparently, they usually give this subject (and the associated test) in the first week to weed out those who aren’t really serious (or suited for the work). Quite a few of the other guys are having trouble with trigonometry and transposition of formula. I’m trying to help out where I can, but as you can imagine, I’m flat out as it is trying to keep up with the workload!
